Aldergrove. Twelve timber residences set into the treeline above Cascade Pass. Ski-in, wood-fired, yours for the season or for good.
Most mountain homes are summer homes with a fireplace bolted on. Aldergrove is the opposite. Every residence is oriented to the low winter sun, sealed for a Cascade January, and finished so the snow outside is the point, not the problem.
The road ends at Aldergrove. Beyond the gate there are twelve homes, one groomed run, and four thousand acres of protected forest that will never be built on.
Snow-clearing, firewood, and a caretaker come with the deed. You arrive, the lights are already warm.
Private viewings run Thursday through Sunday through the winter. Leave a number and the caretaker will call to arrange the drive up.
